First off, thanks to everyone who came out for our holiday edition of 1st Saturday. We had about 80 folks come out and cleared over 500 lbs of trash off Newport’s streets & beaches. The biggest culprits, once again, were cigarette butts (stay tuned for a special on this from ZTN’s own Dr. Wdowin). Again, thanks to all of you for fighting the good fight with us and spreading the word.
We met with the City of Newport Beach today and the aftermath of the 4th brought less trash to the streets than ever before. This may be contributed largely to the peninsula lockdown, but we’d like to think that our efforts over the past 9 months (that’s right) are starting to pay off.
