ZeroTrash Dana Point is growing like crazy, with the volunteer base exploding to over 25 this month. A contingent of Dana Hills High School students showed up at Girl in the Curl Surf Shop together with a group reliable, loyal volunteers of all ages, including another local environmental group called “Clean the Oceans for Lily the Whale” who kindly plan their monthly meeting to coincide with ZeroTrash so that everyone can join in the cleanup. Whale of a Parade for ZeroTrash

The next ZeroTrash “1st Saturday” clean up event is a parade! On Saturday, March 6, we’re taking to the streets in a very public way — we’re marching in the Festival of Whales parade where we will help keep our streets clean and tell EVERYONE about the ZeroTrash mission. Read more

These great volunteers braved the intimidating wind and rain and showed up at Girl in the Curl at 10am Saturday to do our first ever Dana Point community cleanup. These folks single-handedly took almost 50 lbs. of trash off the streets of Dana Point, separated out the recyclables and made sure all that material will not end up in the ocean later in the day as the rains continued.
